Yeah. Linguistic change sucks. If only we could hermetically seal language in a time suspended capsule away from actual human use, then the language would be perfect, PERFECT!
Honestly, I think the English language reached perfection at 3:15 on June 12th, 1987 in Muskegon, Michigan on the corner of Summit and Roosevelt Rd. We should really have just stopped there. But no...NO...where were the scribes to write it all down and the teachers with rulers rapping our knuckles when we used the word "may" and "can" interchangeably?
You're so right. People are so dumb and have a hard time understanding Language. It's amazing they can even order cheese fries at the local burger joint.
